IGA Family and Leon Carachilo Family Come Together During Difficult Times

The Lake Region Community Dock Foundation helps two local families in a big way.

 Hawley, PA — 01/08/2022 —

Without the past fundraising events sponsored by the Lake Region IGA and the Lake Region Community Dock Foundation (LRCDF), monies to help local families has been scarce. Through the generosity of the Carachilo Carnival Food Trucks that have made a temporary home in the IGA parking lot, the funeral donations from the head of the Carachilo family’s Leon Carachilo’s passing, and the private contributions from the Shook Family, most of the Foundation’s work was able to continue.

Four thousand dollars was donated to the Hawley Emergency Services, six thousand dollars was donated to Hawley Parks and Recreation, and two families received five thousand dollars each to help with personal tragedies. The Brindle family received a check to help with their medical bills and the Erk family to help with bills after the unexpected passing of her husband.  Mrs. Erk is currently pregnant with their baby and having to deal with the loss of her husband and baby’s father at the same time. A loss none of us can imagine.
